If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to improve your level of wine knowledge then here's an excellent course to help you make good on that promise.
Singapore wine educator, TLN "Thoroughbred" Nose and owner of Winecraft Marketing, Lim Hwee Peng CSW, will be teaching the Certified Specialist in Wine (CSW) certification course beginning January 11, 2011. This course gives wine lovers and wine professionals excellent wine education possibilities.
The Certified Specialist of Wine is the first level of certification offered by the Society of Wine Educators (SWE), an established US-based non-profit organisation dedicated to increasing wine education through professional development and certification. The syllabus thoroughly covers subjects like viticulture, grape varieties, wine production, wine regions plus how to assess and appreciate wines from all over the world.
While the program is recommended for wine sales professionals, wine marketing professionals, and also food-&-beverage and hospitality professionals, it is not exclusive to that group and can also be of interest to aspiring consumer wine connoisseurs. In other words, it’s open to people of all age groups so long as they are keen to gain wine knowledge.
As with any worthwhile certification there is an exam at the end to determine whether participants actually learned what was required to earn the CSW title, but the good news is that wine tasting is part of the study!!!
