Beginners Guide to Wine Tasting and Appreciation
In Wine-Oh-One, we covered the most famous varietals…In this month’s appreciation class, we introduce you to the lesser known (but just as delicious) varietals such as Semillon, Gewurztraminer, Petite Sirah and Bonarda.
We will begin by introducing the wines, and talk about the regions where they are grown, how they differ from other varietals, and of course discuss various food pairings.
Geared for wine beginners, we will guide you through the basics of wine appreciation and how to make the most out of your wine.
Wines being tasted are as follows:
Gibbston Highgate Pinot Gris, Central Otago, New Zealand - $36
Chalkers Crossing Semillon, NSW, Australia - $30
Kahurangi Gewurztraminer, Nelson, New Zealand - $35
Vynfields Rosé, Martinborough, New Zealand - $35
Don Domenico Finca Cabernet Franc, Argentina - $26
Lucas & Lewellen Petite Sirah, Santa Barbara, California - $42
