18:00 "Jean Stodden -- the superior Pinot Noir wine maker"
Jean Stodden is a small producer of premium quality Pinot Noir made entirely from grapes grown on his 6.5 ha estate nestled in the Ahr-valley neu Bonn/Germany. The familiy has a long wine tradition and has been growing grapes in the Ahr valley since 1578.Low yields in the vineyards and minimal handling in the winery create wines of depth, elegance, concentration and character. They are the ultimate expression of "terroir".
Alexander Stodden, who is actually heading the winery together with his father Gerhard Stodden, was in 2009 invited by Raffles Hotel Wine, Food and Arts Experience as first German red wine maker. His wines were much appreciated by all experts and guests of the RWFAE 2010.
